Marcus J Wilson

Marcus has been using WordPress since 2008 (version 2.7). Over the years, he has moved from using WordPress as a blogger, to integrating and developing using WordPress.  He runs his own WordPress agency – Pooka&co – from Edinburgh.  Marcus is part of the Organiser Team for WordCamp Edinburgh 2018 and WordCamp Europe 2019.

Edd Hurst

Edd is a Technical Architect at Pragmatic, working in WordPress for the last 10 years. As a technical architect he breaks down client technical requirements and identifys the different routes to success, before translating them into a backlog of technical tasks for the production team to address.

Edmund Turbin

Edmund Turbin is Senior Solutions Engineer at WP Engine, London. Over the past ten years he has built websites with content management systems and has held technical roles in media, publishing and ad tech in New York City. Edmund is passionate about front end coding, development workflow and architecting scalable WordPress solutions for enterprise. Edmund has recently is a certified AWS Solutions Architect – Associate. Luminus

Luminus – a man so legendary he sometimes skips his surname, which is fine because you don’t need one when you are the man that is Luminus – is a WooCommerce Happiness Engineer at Automattic with a penchant for helping people figure out the easiest and most reliable way to achieve their objectives with WordPress, WooCommerce and everything in between.

Luminus is a sometimes coder, an abysmal designer, wannabe social butterfly with a 7th-degree black belt in hanging out and equal opportunities hug dispenser. If you see him standing in a corner by himself it’s totally okay to come say hello and give him a hug.

Colin Gray

Colin is a podcaster, speaker and founder, and is a PhD in digital education. He and his team at The Podcast Host run a network of podcasts on everything from mountain biking to space exploration, and they teach how it’s done through their content at ThePodcastHost.com and the Academy within. For those that want to make Podcasting easy and grow their show fast, they have the tool for the job in Alitu.com, their Podcast Maker app.

Kayleigh Thorpe

Kayleigh is a WordPress Specialist at 34SP.com. You’ll often find Kayleigh socialising at tech meetups throughout the UK. When she’s not learning about WordPress, Kayleigh loves to travel and is passionate about the WordPress community

Claire Brotherton

Claire is a web developer, blog writer and accessibility advocate based in Edinburgh. Part of the WordPress accessibility team, Claire’s ideal clients are businesses, nonprofits and entrepreneurs who are passionate about access and inclusion. She loves learning and blogs regularly on her site A Bright Clear Web.

David Artiss

David works full time as an Enterprise Support Engineer on the VIP team at Automattic.

In his spare time, he’s a longtime contributor to the WordPress community, whether through support, docs, or WordPress.TV. He’s also a plugin developer, core contributor, and WordCamp volunteer. But this, believe it or not, is his first WordCamp talk!

Neil Scott

Neil Scott is a user experience designer and front-end developer who has been creating elegant and effective sites for start-ups, SMEs, public sector, and individuals since 2003. His aim is to design beautiful experiences that empower people and help them to connect beyond the screen.

Neil co-founded UX Glasgow, a community group that run workshops, meet-ups, and talks for everyone who cares about the user experience.

Carme Mias

Carme Mias is a self-taught web developer from Glasgow. With a background in a variety of IT fields, from teaching PC Maintenance to support, she is passionate about Open Source, cooperation and sharing of knowledge.
When not working, Carme likes to watch the world go by and daydream. Oh! and chocolate cake, of course…

Tim Nash

Tim is the platform lead at 34SP.com for their Managed WordPress product in addition to being the companies developer advocate. One day he will work out what either of those job titles means. Until he does he spends his day in a mix of dev, security, ops and project management as well as speaking at user groups and conferences. He also helps run WordPress Leeds and writes for several publications including his own site timnash.co.uk.

Ross Steedman

Ross Steedman is the Creative Director at Edinburgh WordPress agency Design33. That means he’s responsible for the overall creative direction of the company, the projects they work on, and the tone of voice they output, as well as the colour of the mugs in the kitchen.

Steven Jones

Steven is a freelance WordPress developer, the lead organiser of the local WordPress meetup in Newcastle, and is responsible for the recent appearance of “WordCamp Newcastle 2019” on the global WordCamp schedule. He can be found @stompweb on Twitter.

Mark Wilkinson

Mark is a developer and co-founder of Highrise Digital, a specialist WordPress agency focusing on building WordPress solutions for post-small pre-enterprise businesses. Mark has been using WordPress since late 2005, all the way back to version 2.0. He is also an active member of the UK WordPress community, attending meet-ups and WordCamps in the UK, as well as getting involved in organising such events.

Kenda Macdonald

Kenda Macdonald is an Automation Ninja. With a background in Forensic Psychology and an affinity for statistics and behaviourally intelligent automation – she’s not your average expert. She’s been living and breathing Infusionsoft for over 5 years and has spent over 14 500 hours learning new ways to automate what people think is impossible. She’s a true nerd, and spends
her waking hours helping businesses understand behaviour for super effective marketing, and relishes in simplifying over complicated processes for truly intelligent automated marketing. She’s the founder of Automation Ninjas – Experts in behavioural automation. Expect enthusiasm and a wealth of knowledge – not normalcy.

Luna Carmona

TEDx speaker and organiser, Luna Carmona has been working in Communications and Social Media over the last five years specialising in the Third Sector. At the moment, Luna Carmona works for Achieve More Scotland, a grass-root NGO located in Glasgow that provides free sport activities in some of the most deprived areas of Scotland. Her role as a Marketing expert and Social Media Manager goes from fundraising events to digital communications including public relations and corporate management. Apart from that, she is a member of the External Relations Committee of the Alliance for the European Voluntary Service where she supports international volunteering of multiple charities across the world building their communications strategy and developing multiple campaigns. Her personal passions are books, travelling and good vegan food.

Jeremy Davis

After over 30 years working in IT, Jeremy Davis has experience in analysis, project management and several defunct programming languages.
He learned WordPress the ‘old-fashioned’ way, i.e. by pressing every button he could find to see what it did.
He now designs and manages a variety of websites for both commercial and voluntary organisations. He’s also a co-organizer of the WP Glasgow MeetUp group.
He refuses to be ‘passionate’ about anything but will admit to being enthusiastic about explaining WP in English rather than jargon.
And tennis. He’s quite keen on tennis.

Rhys Wynne

Rhys Wynne is a WordPress Plugin developer, author and speaker. In 2013 he penned bbPress Complete (ISBN-13: 978-1782167242) and has written plugins that have been downloaded over 100,000 times.

Rhys has a keen interest in commercial WordPress development, SEO, security and open source technologies, and enjoys the community that has surrounded open source technologies.
